Oriental Arts Therapist

This 500 hour course is designed to teach and certify Oriental Arts Therapist and prepare the student to establish a successful clinic/business. It is designed to teach students Basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine. An emphasis is placed on teaching Meridians, Acupoints, Diagnostic methods. The different ethnic forms of Acupressure ( Shiatsu, Kiatsu.) ,and Asian massage forms such as Thai Massage.

Job Title: Oriental Arts Therapist

The 500-hour Oriental Arts therapist program generally takes six to nine months to complete, but length of the course varies with each student.


Skills to be learned:

  1. Students learn skeleton system, superficial muscles and to locate organs and glands. students are introduced to the origin and insertion of muscles and the tendon and ligament relationship.
  2. Students will learn principals of Yin-Yang, and the Five Elements.
  3. Student will learn theory of Zang-Fu Organs, Qi and Blood.
  4. Students will learn the 14 Meridians and major Acupoints and what they treat.
  5. Students will learn Diagnostic Methods: palpation, inspection, listing & smelling
  6. Inquiring.
  7. The student will learn Acupressure treatments.
  8. The student will learn Shiatsu treatment.
  9. Students will learn and practice Sun Salutation and other therapeutic stretches, as well as a beginning form of Tai Chi.
  10. Students will receive Reiki - the 2nd level attunement and learn the Signs.


Upon completion of training, a written and practical exam will be administered. Instructional mode is 40% theory and 60% practical.
