Massage Therapist

This course includes the completion of Massage Technician I , Massage Technician II, Sports/Rehabilitation Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, Oriental Massage or Reflexology techniques, Deep tissue massage and Cranio-sacral massage. It is designed to teach more advanced skills in massage, nutrition, anatomy, physiology, business and client assessment skills. This course prepares the student to establish a successful business. Vitality’s curriculum prepares the student to take the National Certification Test.

Job Title: Massage Therapist

The 500-hour massage therapist program generally takes six to nine months to complete, but length of the course varies with each student.
Skills to be learned:

  1. Massage Technician I ( 100 hours)
  2. Massage Technician II (100 hours)
  3. Anatomy/Physiology - Students will continue to learn bone structure, and superficial muscles and origin and insertion of the deep musculature system. Students will also learn the function of the 9 systems and pathologies. (100 hours)
  4. Marketing, Ethics & Business skills- Students will learn how to apply for a license, how to assemble a professional resume and where to look for a job. Students will also learn ethics regarding client/therapist and employee/therapist/clients. Students will learn how to write a business plan and learn record keeping skills.(12 hours)
  5. Clinical Practice - Student will be working on clients in the clinic under supervision for Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Reiki I , Fascia Release and Neuromuscular Massage. (27-50 hours)


Upon completion of training, a written and practical exam will be administered. Instructional mode is 30% theory and 70% practical.
