Massage Therapist
This course includes the completion of Massage Practitioner I , Massage Practitioner II, Massage Practitioner III (Deep Tissue Massage), Sports/Rehabilitation Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, Oriental Massage or Reflexology techniques, and Cranio-sacral massage. It is designed to teach more advanced skills in massage, nutrition, anatomy, physiology, business and client assessment skills. This course prepares the student to establish a successful business. The 500-hour massage therapist program generally takes six to nine months to complete, but length of the course varies with each student.
Classroom Instruction Includes:
First 250 Hours is the Massage Practitioner Program
*Learning the Swedish Massage Pattern
*Learning Therapeutic Massage Techniques
*Learning Deep Tissue Massage Techniques
Second 250 Hours is the following Required Classes:
SPORTS MASSAGE - Upper or Lower (50 Hours)
Instruction involves 50 hours of classroom and clinical training specializing in injury assessment and treatment
PATHOLOGY - (40 Hours)
Instruction involves 40 hours of study and diagnosis of disease through examination
ADVANCED MASSAGE TECHNIQUE (160 HOURS)
Upon completion of training, a written and practical exam will be administered. Instructional mode is 30% theory and 70% practical.
