Somatic Synthesis TM Body/Mind Hypnotherapist

This 200-hour program is designed to teach professional hypnosis skills. This course prepares the student to establish a successful business.

Job Title: Hypnotherapist

This course is divided into four levels with a 50-hour clinical apprenticeship. Each level is 50 hours. Classes meet twice a week for five weeks. The clinical hours can be done over a six-month period.


Skills to be learned:

  1. Hypnosis Techniques - Students will learn the language of hypnosis, induction techniques, deepening techniques, rules of the mind and many techniques to create positive life changes. Roles of right brain and left brain will be explored in creating mind/body harmony. Techniques will be taught to create various states of hypnosis.
  2. Client Skills - Students will learn how to create rapport with clients. Skills for empowering clients and creating a safe environment for growth. Listening skills will be emphasized.
  3. Making Tapes - Students will expand skills through making tapes for themselves and others.
  4. Pain Control Techniques - Students will learn techniques to facilitate clients to control their pain response.
  5. Stress Management Skills - Students will learn to use breathing and imagery for mind and body balancing and relaxation.
  6. Marketing & Business Skills - Students learn how to market a successful hypnosis practice. Additionally, students will learn how to record keeping skills and how to work with other health professionals.
  7. Laws & Ethics - Students will learn how to practice within the legal guidelines of the state.


Upon completion of training a written and practical test will be administered. The instructional mode is 35% and 65% practical.
